Did the customer request a lack of pants on the villain, or was that just your artistic decision?

Mine. This is something I have mentioned before -- the changes that become necessary to make something "work" as a black and white image, as opposed to color. I deemed it more interesting visually to have the "Kirby crackle" cover the whole figure,

Well, strictly speaking, realism in any art (outside of photo-realism (and I guess even inside that)) is and has always been about conventions that project verisimilitude, so in all honesty and in that sense I think realism is most definitely in the palm of your artistic hand, JB. Your characters have always looked like real people to me. And I for one have always believed.

Man, that guy who's ordering these must be estatic.

I think Neal Adams said that "[art]style is the mistakes you make". JB's making all the right mistakes if you ask me.

Going through the gallery this morning and this one popped up as the "cover image" of the Iron Fist gallery....these Iron Fist reimaginings came so fast and furious a lot of them sort of blended together for me.  I didn't particularly even remember this one...and I think it's great!  Love the posing of the characters.  Hard to believe this is three years old already!
