I know this is a published cover and the thread is for framed commissions, but I thought to put this here since this was a unique one to frame.

A trade paperback of STAR TREK: ASSIGNMENT EARTH died valiantly during the framing of this piece. It was sliced up good to remove the cover and B&W piece!!

Thanks, guys - everytime I go to get a commission, I always tilt towards buying something that was published instead.  This series was really big for me, and the beginning of a great run of STAR TREK work by JB that continues today.

I don't know what to call it, a recreation maybe? JB was working on then stopped and put it into his flat file; I came across it during a visit and asked if it was for sale. It was, now it's on my wall!

At one point I was considering recreating the pencils of some of my more "famous" pages, but when Jim Warden saw this one as a WIP he said my current penciling style was too different from what it had been in the Seventies, so I didn't finish the page.

Proof as to why my decision to not pursue a career in photography was the
proper choice....

And a shot of JB rounding the turn in my office....

Looking good, Dan and Flávio*!

*My autocorrect added the accent over the a without any prompting. I hope it's correct.
