Watched it Friday, Shaun, and I 100% agree with your assessment.

Plot-wise, I think its my least favorite M:I movie since the first.

THOSE MAGNIFICENT MEN IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES (1965)

Inspired by comments in another thread, popped this one in last night. Long, but it mostly still holds up. Sarah Miles is delightful.

70th anniversary of:

THE THIRD MAN (1949)

One of those rare films that just gets better & better with each passing decade.  Deserves all the accolades!

PRIVATE LIFE (2018).

Good movie. It's like a later Woody Allen-New York City film -- smart, urbane, funny, realistic, no Hollywood sap... but without the infidelity. (Thankfully!) A marriage under strain that ends with love reaffirmed rather than rampant cheating to discover nothing.

Caught the last few minutes of A FISH CALLED WANDA and had a Doh! moment after 31 years. The movie does not end with The End, it ends with Fin.

BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID (1969) - I love this movie and
haven't seen it in some time. I enjoy it every time, and am so glad that it holds
up. I have liked the film since I was a kid and grew to appreciate it even more
after reading William Goldman's account of the film in his book ADVENTURES
IN THE SCREEN TRADE. I revisited the film based on this recent article from
The AV Club (and I admit the MCU reference in the headline caught my eye!):

You can trace the quippy fun of Marvel
blockbusters straight back to Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid

I haven't been able to watch BUTCH CASSIDY since I learned they used running wires to trip the horses, causing several to have to be destroyed.

I enjoyed this one, but I actually preferred the "less is more" approach of Gareth Edward's 2014 GODZILLA movie.
