Brad: As for the new one, it's always nice to see what's coming next.

---

The new request is much smaller -- but I'm guessing it will be equally fun to look at!

I was blown away by JB's "If I Had a Time Machine" commission. His use of tone was incredible. In the thread he posted, "One of the things I want to push with the tones, if any more such requests come along, is to diminish the use of black holding lines as much as possible". After reading that I knew I wanted another commission!

btw I've been looking at tone pieces lately... Wally Wood was pretty incredible at doing them!

I like the picture of Jim and Garry ogling Nathans commission as it lays seductively on the bed like a prostitute. (A high class one of course)  ;)

File under "Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall".

I found another site to which this piece had been transplanted (despite requests that this not be done with ANY of the pieces), and in the comments thread one micro-brain pointed out there are "no black characters." with the obvious inference that this was my choice.

No sense of History, right? Aside from the fact that there IS one Black character, Gabe Jone with the Howlers, having him there represents the, well, maximum representation of Black people in comics of this vintage.

I mean, bottom line, with the cut-off here being somewhere around 1964 or so, who else was there? The real explosion of social consciousness in comics was still about half a decade away.

At least this one hasn't turned up "colorized" on my Facebook feed yet!
