Looks like they're hitting the ground running this season!  (Yes, pun intended!)  Wally West becomes Kid Flash:

I absolutely freakin' LOVE that costume.  Kid Flash has always had my favorite costume and this hits the mark.

Cool costume…. it's a design favorite of mine as well.

Too bad it's the wrong Wally. *sigh*

I have always loved Kid Flash's costume a lot. I don't understand the love of leathery material but in general this is in the ballpark.

Weird that they're doing "Kid Flash" when the actual Flash is barely able to
legally rent a car. I also think Wally on the series is around the same age Wally
in the comics was when he became the actual Flash.

Would have actually made more sense to me if this Kid Flash was the sidekick
to a legitimately mature Flash (JWS's Jay Garrick).

Kid Flash's costume may be the best thing not designed by Gil
Kane I can think of.

I was hoping that if Wally became a speedster, they'd avoid the Kid Flash name, aside from a quickly rejected suggestion from Cisco.

I hope they don't call him Kid Flash. It seems kind of silly to me to name this Wally Kid. He about the same height as Barry and he can't be that much younger than him either.

In the show, Barry is 27 and Wally is 18.  No idea of their real ages.

I don't know why they didn't make Wally about 14-years-old in the series. That would have solved the problem with the name "Kid Flash." Even if the character is 18, and still technically a "teen," it's only a couple of seasons before he is no longer even that. Still, there was a 30-year-old actor playing a college-aged Superboy, so...

OT:
@Bob Simko: Kid Flash's costume is indeed superb, and Gil Kane did some incredible work as well.

Other non-Kane costumes I personally liked included the Flash (Barry, of course), Adam Strange, Hawkman (even though most of that groundwork had already been laid), and Saturn Girl, Ultra Boy, and Sun Boy.

I don't know why the costume material has to be so defined, though; I find it kind of distracting. In answer to a once asked question - yes, I am expecting yellow spandex.

Also, the only way I think calling an 18 year old Kid Flash is if he's been called Kid Flash since he was 12. I'm 55, and I don't think of 17 or 18 year olds as kids.

Then again, The Blur and The Whizzer have already been done, and Quicksilver is already being used right now. So...

He's already been verified as being "Kid Flash".

++++++++++++++++++++++++

Grant Gustin was born in January of 1990. Keiynan Lonsdale was born in December of 1991. So close to a 2 year age difference between the two actors.

I'm excited for the JSA and pretty much nothing else.

Poor rendering of the costume and that actor is the worst on the show.

The JSA is likely going to be on LEGENDS OF TOMORROW first, since one of their members showed up and mentioned the team in the season finale.

Hey, I'm 48 and anyone under 35 is automatically entered into the kid category, in my book.

Both season finales had obvious JSA tie-ins. I guess Flashpoint will tie up this series for a while, though, and Legends of Tomorrow doesn't have anything else going on.

Marc Foxx - you're 48?

Kid. (Says the 55 year old... and yeah, I know that one or two others around here exceed my age.)

Have they said exact ages or are you positing?  I don't ever remember Barry giving his age as 27 and Wally looks older than 18 to me.

First season Barry was 25.  This was based on what was said in the show.  He was 11 when his mother died and, at that point when the show started, his father had spent 14 years in jail.  So beginning on this season he'll be 28 or nearly 28.

Wally was shown to be just out of high school when he was first introduced and beginning his first year of college.  So unless he was held back, he's 18. (Probably turning 19 soon-ish on the show.)
