How much you want to bet he holds on to ventilators until key swing
states need them?

I’m not sure what is worse, the President’s handling of the federal virus
response or the US citizens that will condone his actions and even
defend them. The US president had previously been referred to as the
leader of the free world, but instead of setting an example during this
global crisis the current President is demonstrating what not to do. He
had action plans, procedures and experienced personnel at the
beginning of his term and flushed them all over the course of three
years, replacing those lost resources with ignorance, inaction and a
disregard for the lives of the citizens.

I did a little rough research and came up with these stats*.  These are American deaths in US military actions (wars, police actions, Jets vs Sharks...)

Civil War: 499,000
WWI: 117,000
WWII: 406,000
Korea: 57,000
Vietnam: 90,000
Iraq/Afghanistan/"Terror" Wars: 500,000

These are deaths in notable pandemics:

Spanish influenza: 675,000
Corona virus: 100,000+
Projected deaths due to corona virus: 240,000

Consider that. This has already surpassed Korea and Vietnam** and looks to surpass WWI. That's from round one of this disease. There's no way to tell if the second round will hit harder - we'll have to watch China and South Korea (at first) and see if this is a bell curve or a yeast knee curve. And there's really no way to verify if their statistics are accurate or not. Why would they lie? Why does a shark swim? It's what they do.

But even if a war is predictable (the first Iraq war seemed to have a high profile coming over the horizon), it's a challenge to confront an army, directed by humans. A pandemic effectively acts mindlessly (even if somewhat predictable over a statistical universe) and doesn't vary its tactics. With early enough warning, development of a vaccine and manufacturing of supplies and/or their release if they already exist should be effective and efficient. After all, in a world wide crisis, it's humanity vs. the germs, right? Look around out your window - we ARE all acting together to fight this.

Except for one man. The most important man in the United States, and arguably the world - or so he should be - isn't a leader, isn't a free thinker, isn't supportive of every action and announcement from health organizations. President Murder is a traitor, AGAIN, in another conflict.

Worried about his ratings. Worried about his election. Worried about keeping a high profile. Worried about the appearance of being wise. Worried about looking as if he's in control. Worried about finding someone to blame.***

If an objective observer - if there were one - were to listen to his pronouncements and observe is actions, I doubt it would take a half hour to conclude that this man is ready for the 25th amendment as few presidents have been.

No chance. His sycophants worship the very bullshit he walks on. His administration toadies await his every misstatement and lie he utters. And worst of all, he's quid pro quo'ing the governors for desperately needed medical equipment.

The only thing that makes me question if he's a Soviet puppet is that the Soviets are suffering as well... this doesn't seem likely to be a plot.

It's hard to find an appropriate adjective anymore. We may need to add Trumpian in the 2021 dictionary to describe someone of this incompetence and treason.

* If you want to take me to task for inexactitude, go right ahead. These are just general estimates - close enough to make my point.

** No, those weren't wars - but as others have said, you can get just as dead in a police action as you can in a war.

*** And really, after three years of presidency, isn't getting a little ridiculous to blame President Obama?

I've been reading where high school seniors are upset  on missing out on many activies due to the COVID-19 virus.

At this point, I can sympathize with them missing out on many things (senior proms and trips, graduation, etc...).

But kids, your health and well being is top priority.

One piece of advice I would like to give to the 2020 Senior class is this:

If you are 18 or will turn 18 before or on November 3rd,  please register to vote in this year's general election.

AND VOTE BLUE UP & DOWN THE BALLOT!!!!!

Is the combined number really that high?  That seems... off.

So apparently today’s Covid-19 briefing was all about the Mexican drug
cartels.

I guess since he can have rallies, these daily briefings are nothing but
him campaigning now. Especially with that fucking pillow guy from the
other day. Jesus Christ.

I knew his tone from Tuesday couldn't last.

Bingo. 24 hours later we're back to his batshittery.

If my math is correct, that's around 10 million working Americans filing for unemployment in 2 weeks.

Republicans constantly said that voting for Bernie will bring socialism (if most of them know what it means)

Now with 6 million people filing for unemployment last week, businesses shutting down, the feds sending out checks and bailing out corporate America due to 45 dragging his feet in regards to the virus.

I guess we ALL are socialist now.

Would like to hear from 45 supporters on this board to defend this.

"Only I can fix this!"
"It's a hoax!"
"The impeachment process distracted him from reacting."

(EDIT: Added 45 supporters)

By the end of this, Bernie will have lost the election but won the war.  The healthcare system and the economy are going to have to be rebuilt and it's going to be more socialist, certainly not less so.  And since Bernie's never been out for himself, I'm sure he'll be very happy with that.

Is there another economic/political model that can look
after its people in an economic crisis other than
socialism?
