Epitome of Trump's base:

A Trump supporter gets kicked out of rally for mistakenly being a protestor and being called fat by Trump, then says “everything’s good” and continuing to support him!!

Well, it was only a matter of time before the orange imbecile dragged the global economy into a downward spiral. But he's done it. From Reuters (Warning: it's fake news because it's critical of Trump) comes this set of Economic indicators, pointing to bad times ahead.

Sadly, I concur that we seem likely to be heading for a global downturn, if not outright recession. Major cause: Trump and his idiotic, ongoing, pointless, chest-beating trade war with China.

So from the rest of the planet, thank you to those 60 million American morons who voted in this numpty. You didn't learn your lesson from the Dubya Debacle, didya?

Germany's manufacturing sector is probably in a recession, most probably because China is not buying any heavy machinery. This is not helping a faltering European economy. A world recession indeed may be eminent. To make things more infuriating (or not as bad, depending on your POV) is that America might get hit the least.

I find that unlikely. A lot of Economists already predict a recession in the US, as this ABC article points out for example:

 QUOTE:
Among 226 economists surveyed by the National Association for Business Economics, 34% said a recession would hit the U.S. in 2021, an increase from 25% who believed so in February.

But it doesn't take an Economics degree to work out that a highly advanced country like the US is at the forefront of being intimately tied to global markets. Much of what America sells is actually made overseas. This is what Red Hat wearing idiots refer to as Globalism, which is a non-existent thing. The correct term is Globalization, which describes an increasingly interconnected global economy.

Trump is basically setting the stage to slug American companies with both supply and demand-side pressures with his 1930s-style trade war rhetoric and policies.

Apple is a classic example: what it sells is a global product that will be bought less in a global slowdown, the costs it faces to make that product will rise because most of its chain of production lies in China, and it will be squeezed from both ends.

Meanwhile, here in Australia, where we weathered the last GFC fairly well by selling stuff we dig out of our own soil (rural commodities, mining commodities), costs are mainly labour and the market will always be there as people always need the raw materials.

Where Trump will really make things nightmarish is if he continues to escalate tensions in the Persian Gulf, and triggers a war with Iran. If that happens, the planet goes into a tailspin as slowing demand meets skyrocketing fuel prices.

And that's not even taking into account the huge debt trap Trump has laid for you, with falling taxes, rising national debt, massively increased military expenditure (a huge recurring cost), and gutting your education and health systems for generations to come...

But THANK GOD crooked Hillary didn't make it into the White House! It could have been so much worse...

I love how Trump keeps saying we may buy Greenland when Denmark keeps saying fuck you, it’s not for sale.

Well, if Denmark's replies aren't on Fox and Friends or in Uncle John's Bathroom Reader, Trump is likely ignorant of them.

Trump has said and done a LOT of strange and provocative things during his first term - but this silly thing about buying Greenland is just plain DISTURBING.

Trump is pretty good at controlling what people discuss on a daily basis. Better to stay focused on the issues that are REAL.

Greenland is a bait and switch.  It's crazy talk meant to distract from the important ongoing narrative.  Don't give it anything more than a second's thought and then move on.  Don't feed the Trump fire.
