Rick Parfit, one half of UK rock band Status Quo has passed away at age 68, due to an infection related to a shoulder injury.

Like a lot of rock musicians famous in the 60s and 70s he led a 'colourful' life, but lately he lived something of the quite life in Spain.

2016 sucks.

He was responsible for my favourite Quo track, Mystery Song, which he wrote when he stayed overnight in the studio on his own. When the rest of the band returned the next day he'd finished the song.

Sad news,i grew up listening to Quo as my late dad was a fan.He was most miffed when some scrotes stole his car in the 80`s,when it was found, they`d taken the cassette player and all his cassettes except Quo,he always said `Not only scrotes, but tone deaf scrotes too`
I feel the `Three chord` tag the popular press put on Quo is very unfair, they knew how to write a good tune, isn`t that all that matters?
Forty-Five Hundred Times is nearly 10 minutes of Quo excellence.
R.I.P. Rick.
