I hope these terrorist types stay away from Comicons! I suppose their power relies on inciting fear into ALL aspects of U.S. activities.  THEY WILL NOT WIN!

Some of my friends were at the Phoenix Comicon Thursday, one working a booth for her school, one at a table as an author/artist and several as visitors.

Fortunately the local police were tipped off and managed to find the gunman and apprehend him before anyone was injured,

The amount of weaponry available to him was frightening - at what point do we say "enough is enough" and do something to keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill?

We don`t have easy access to guns over here, they then
resort to vehicles or bombs, what can you do?

Take one of the easiest, most concealable ways for an
untrained individual to kill scores of people in a VERY
short span of time away?

The news program said the gunman claimed he stabbed Jason David Frank 15 years ago? What????

The gunman thought he was the Punisher!!!! What????

How does anyone this deranged NOT get caught sooner?

Thank goodness he was sending posts to a girl stating he was going to shoot someone, and she reported him to the police. Always take death threats seriously.

Yet another reason for me to feel uncomfortable about going to conventions anymore.

False equivalency.

Sadly, it doesn't matter where you go, anymore; the grocery store, the park, any kind of event, or just outside your door... this has become a modern way of life. I won't let it deter me in doing what I want to do. As disturbing as it has become, anymore one needs to expect it as much as one realizes they might be ran over by a car crossing the street.

We at least have some amount of control over what happens when we cross the street. There is a comfort in that.

Not having any control over the situations that I'm involved in. Is an anxiety inducing event. If given a choice in the matter. I'll always choose to avoid putting myself in those kind of situations.
