In "Iron Fist" Vol.1 #8, John Byrne appears to give himself a cameo as one of the out-of-town subway riders who is mugged by the Golden Tigers; what can you (John Byrne) tell us about that cameo? Have you ever given yourself any other cameos in other comics? Who were the other people "with you" on the subway platform?

Thanks in advance. (I've wanted to ask that question for ~30 years 😀)

The others were a couple of friends from Calgary and an imaginary woman.

As to other appearances..... Yes, there have been one or two. 🙃

Too cool! Thanks! (I'm totally starstruck - and we're not even meeting in person!)

Let's see, JB appears in the Trial of Galactus, several She-Hulk stories, some Marvel Age covers, the Bullpen Bulletins drawing. That's off the top of my head, I'm sure there's lots more.

He and Chris both are in X-MEN. Issue 120 or 121, I believe.

JB, Chris and Dave Cockrum are in the last issue of IRON FIST.

Brian Miller and Leigh DJ Hunt: Thanks so much; I'll have to check those issue out!

Brian Miller: I copy and past emojis from https://emojikeyboard.org/ - I'm a little low-tech when it comes to emojis and a laggard ("late adopter") from emoticons :) 😃

I didn't know they would transfer from phone to post successfully. I've tried it on other boards and I'd didn't work.   🖖🏻

The Marvel Chronology Project lists JB's in-continuity appearances in order as: Iron Fist #8, Iron Fist #15, X-Men #121, Captain America #252 (all I can see is a hand holding a note to Roger Stern signed by JB), Thing #7 (with Ron Wilson and Ann Nocenti), Fantastic Four #262, Alpha Flight #105 (drawn by Tom Morgan) and Sensational She-Hulk #50.

The Grand Comics Database says JB also appeared in Excalibur #14 & 24 (both drawn by Alan Davis), Hulk #1, Ninja High School #74 (drawn by someone named J
erzy J. Drozd), normalman - Megaton Man Special #1 (by Jim Valentino), Power Man #50 (with Claremont and Shooter), the Star Brand #11-12, Superman: the Wedding Album #1 (drawn by Dan Jurgens and Jerry Ordway).

Colin Ian Campbell: Wow, that's awesome! Thanks so much for the comprehensive list and for the database references; I'll have to check out the comics and familiarize myself with databases 😀

Always really enjoyed seeing creators show up in their comics. It's a fun little in-joke. The She-Hulk cover with JB on it was hilarious and worked really well with the humor and self-awareness of the title.
