Well, I was looking thru the Unfinished Comic Run thread and I got thinking, which is a bad thing. I know it's wishful thinking on my part but it's a question I gotta ask.

Would a Stern/Byrne Captain America Redux mini-series and a Byrne/Claremont (script only)X-Men Redux mini-series be possible thru IDW? IDW could produce the book, acting as a buffer between Marvel and the producers of the books, and they could be working for IDW not Marvel. IDW and Marvel splitting the profits, and the producers getting a percentage.

There is a precedent, Dynamite did a Torch mini-series and an Avengers/Invaders mini-series for Marvel around 10 years ago.

IDW and Marvel seem to have a good working relationship relative to the Artist's Editions. Marvel's sales are down they might go for it.

And it would be a nice thumb in the eye to a former Editor in Chief that will remain nameless.

Again, just thinking out loud. I return you to your regular programming.

Looking at the Batman sketches above, I wonder about the Untold. Legend of the Batman comics that could have been!

Also, not trying to be a wise guy, I have to say JB draws Batman so much better these days (given how cool these sketches are that's really saying something!). Here's to hoping for one great Batman OGN by JB in the future! I know but a man can dream......

Heh. It almost looks like the Batman that appeared in THE MAN OF STEEL...

Reading the power description and general shape of the "vehicle", was Caliban later recycled as Roger Bochs/Box?

Dream away... I'm right there with you!!! Ever since I saw that first issue of Untold Legend of the Batman I've hoped for an updated series by JB.

I just realized that it was Bernie's smile that I was reminded of in a girlfriend from 20 years ago! Wow.

It is really interesting to see the development of these ideas on paper. I don't understand the inclusion of the Joker though. Thank you for posting.
