The first thing that came to mind is Dr. McCoy's tricorder. But if we're speaking of things that could be displayed in one's backyard, wouldn't the Guardian of Forever be something?

If they actually worked, a control belt from "By Any Other Name".

But since they don't, one of the Vulcan lirpa weapons from 'Amok Time', my second favorite episode.

(`Balance of Terror' is my favorite, but there's not anything I can think of that I would like from it. The Roman outfits and helmets were pretty fugly back then. If you know the casting for both episodes, its kind of funny those are my two favorite episodes....)

Spock's Brain! (kidding)

The liquor bottle from"By Any Other Name". The one Scotty is holding when he says: "It's green".

The M-5 / Beta 5 computer. It could still be fairly interactive if I decided to hermetically seal it in glass, and modifications to make it work like it looked like it did in the show could be external (projector onto the screen, voice activator to turn on the lighting sequencer); I'd feel like a vandal if I "updated" the internal workings of the prop.

M-5/Beta 5 computer...

Altho they shared some lighting, those were two different props -- and that lighting array seems to have started in the James Coburn movie THE PRESIDENT'S ANALYST, released in December of 1967.

...it occurs to me that the shuttlecraft might actually have made for a good tiki bar (sitting along side Cochrane's hut) if our heroes had never escaped from the Companion's planet in "Metamorphosis".
