I'm hooked enough into the new Netflix original "Ozark" to see it through to the end. Lots of similarities to "Breaking Bad", but enough differences to keep me engaged. I am a big Jason Bateman fan since he became an adult. Anyone else watching this one?

Glad to hear the recommendation. It's in my queue.

It has definite echoes of BB and The Sopranos, but it's also its own show.  We watched it all the way through and am happy to report it gets better the farther in you go.  So far it has taken a few welcome left turns and seems unafraid to take chances.  Netflix reportedly has run into some short term cash flow issues and may be cutting back on original programming for the moment; I hope this series is not a casualty.

Watched the whole first series. Great performances and lots of twists and turns. However, it is missing some of the complexity that Breaking Bad had that allowed you to watch Walter White's decent without necessarily being on his side.

In this case the  while the Jason Bateman character appears to more decent on the surface that's only because he does not get his hands dirty. Not sure if he can remain sympathetic in another season as he simply the least evil in a bunch of very evil people.

Interestingly, although Jason Bateman is playing his age, he still sometimes looks to young to be the husband and father in that family!

I'm watching it at this very moment.  6 episodes in.

Ruth could be Justin Timberlake's girl clone....

Great series so far.  Marty thinks on his feet like his life depends on it.

I just started watching this last night. Made it all the way to episode five before forcing myself to stop. Pretty great show.

Ozark got a second season two days ago: Ozark Renewed

I enjoyed Season 1 and was surprised a number of times just how dark this show gets. Physical tension embodied me several times as I watch the show, shook my head and winced.

Yep, good news.  Interestingly, HOUSE OF CARDS has yet to be renewed for a final (?) season even though it concluded months ago (previous renewals had historically been announced before now).

I agree; excellent series. (With me being from the UK, I know the word 'Ozark' mainly from the 1970's band The Ozart Mountain Daredevil. I kept waiting and waiting...then...yes! Their hit 'Jackie Blue' 'finally showed up on the background soundtrack!)
