I'll pick Thursday now and the rest later...

Thursday, September 14

  • Texans at Bengals - Tough choice.  These teams were the biggest disappointments of Week 1.  Sure, Indy looked bad but they don't have postseason aspirations.  I'm going with the Bengals because they were thoroughly embarrassed and are at home. But really?  Coin flip.

Thursday, September 14

  • Texans at Bengals  Does it matter?  Is death an option?  No.  Fine....

Sunday, September 17

  • Browns at Ravens  The Browns are oh-so-close to being much better.  Ravens will have a tough time, but pull it out.

  • Bills at Panthers  Which Cam shows up?  Better yet, does Carolina's D show up??  It really doesn't matter 'cause the Bills stink.

  • Cardinals at Colts  Colts are just out of Luck.

  • Titans at Jaguars  Make it or break it game for both teams.

  • Eagles at Chiefs  Coin toss, taking the home team

  • Patriots at Saints  Pissed off Brady vs. a bad Saints D equals record day for the Pats.

  • Vikings at Steelers  Vikings will have a much tougher time this week.

  • Bears at Buccaneers  Is Glennon starting?  Yes?  My poor Bears....  Still, it's the Bucs.

  • Dolphins at Chargers  CUTLAH!

  • Jets at Raiders  Jets are tanking, Raiders don't care and will take the win.

  • Cowboys at Broncos  The Broncos will find the Cowboys are a tougher adversary than the Chargers.

  • Redskins at Rams  Jumping on the Rams bandwagon while there are still seats!  (At least for this week)

  • 49ers at Seahawks  This is good for what ails ya: an impotent 49ers team.  'Hawks will romp.

  • Packers at Falcons  The Bears' D manhandled the Falcons, the Packers D won't be able to...

Monday, September 18

  • Lions at Giants  The NY teams will probably get 6 wins combined this year.  Most of them from the Giants.  But not this week.

Bengals

Ravens
Panthers
Cardinals
Jaguars (hope I'm wrong)
Chiefs
Patriots (I always hope I'm wrong when I pick them!)
Steelers (hope I'm wrong)
Bears
Dolphins
Raiders
Cowboys (I expect a close game, though.)
Rams
Seahawks
Packers (Can't stand the Packers. I really hope I'm wrong!)

Lions

So I only disagree with Kevin on two games....but won't be surprised if I am wrong about Packers/Falcons. I *will* be pleasantly surprised if the Titans beat the Jaguars, though.

Texans At Bengals - Two cruddy offensive teams take aim (and probably miss.)  Bungles starter Andy Dalton may have had his worst game as a pro last week (4 INTs, 5 sacks).  But the Texans may be without rookie QB Deshaun Watson and their top three TEs and they gave up ten sacks last week.

Occasionally there's a game that is characterized as a "get-healthy" game for a team: here; beat up these guys and you'll feel better about yourselves.

That's Thursday's game this week.  For both teams.  After seeing week one I can't think of two worse teams to have a short week right now.  This game could be special.  I'm going with the home team.  Dalton can't be THAT bad.  Right?

The Texans are down one LB for 10 games. Brian Cushing was suspended for a second PED violation.

They've also named Deshaun Watson their starting QB.

Philippe, are we battling again mon frere?

Here are the rest of my picks...

◾Texans at Bengals

Sunday, September 17

◾Browns at Ravens Could be closer than expected.

◾Bills at Panthers

Cardinals at Colts- Bounceback for Palmer

◾Titans at Jaguars Losing Robinson hurts but Bortles tends to overachieve in this matchup.

◾Eagles at Chiefs

Patriots at Saints 40 year old Brady not himself last week and if NE goes down again, you know the whispers will return.

◾Vikings at Steelers

◾Bears at Buccaneers Potential massacre.

◾Dolphins at Chargers Dolphins distracted by Irma.

◾Jets at Raiders

Cowboys at Broncos Denver hasn't lost at home to Dallas since 1992 and has won 5 straight over the Cowboys. Still taking Dallas assuming Elliott plays.

Redskins at Rams

◾49ers at Seahawks

Packers at Falcons Atlanta dominated the NFC championship but taking road underdogs.  Should be good

Monday, September 18

Lions at Giants

And the rest...

Sunday, September 17

  • Browns at Ravens

  • Bills at Panthers - Still not convinced that the Panthers have rebounded.  They didn't look great vs the Niners last week.

  • Cardinals at Colts

  • Titans at Jaguars - I think the Titans will force Bortles to have to pass, which ain't a good thing.  The Jags D is good, but they were helped tremendously by a horrible Texans offense.

  • Eagles at Chiefs

  • Patriots at Saints - This is going to be a bloodletting.

  • Vikings at Steelers - I have faith!!  SKOL VIKINGS!!!

  • Bears at Buccaneers

  • Dolphins at Chargers

  • Jets at Raiders

  • Cowboys at Broncos

  • Redskins at Rams

  • 49ers at Seahawks

  • Packers at Falcons

Monday, September 18

  • Lions at Giants - The G-Men have already handcuffed themselves for this and every contest because they have no running game.  The Lions were able to hold David Johnson in check before he went out in the second half last week and AZ is a two-dimensional team.

Well THAT was ugly.  The Bungles are in a world of hurt going 0-2 to start the season without leaving Cincinnati.  Methinks Lewis' seat is getting awfully hot.

That had better be the most boring game of the season or I am going to have to take up knitting.

Thursday, September 14

  • Texans at Bengals L

Sunday, September 17

  • Browns at Ravens - This will be a case study of how much of the Steelers' troubles last week were on the Browns side of the ball.  I think the Ravens will coast, although you gotta root for Cleveland to stick it to the team that left them.

  • Bills at Panthers

  • Cardinals at Colts

  • Titans at Jaguars

  • Eagles at Chiefs

  • Patriots at Saints

  • Vikings at Steelers (MATT DISAGREES) - I've already marked this one an L.  Prove me wrong Steelers!

  • Bears at Buccaneers

  • Dolphins at Chargers

  • Jets at Raiders

  • Cowboys at Broncos (MATT DISAGREES) - For the second week in a row we disagree on how the Broncos will do, this time in opposite directions.  Last season I was 12-4 picking Broncos games and 13-3 picking Dallas games.  I hope that helps me here.

  • Redskins at Rams (MATT DISAGREES) - I'm doing it again, picking the Redskins after last week's mistake and picking against the Rams again after last week's BIG mistake.

  • 49ers at Seahawks

  • Packers at Falcons (MATT DISAGREES) - SUNDAY NIGHT DRAMA!

Monday, September 18

  • Lions at Giants

Four disagrees.  Could change the whole dynamic.

Paul, if you're not following what's going on here, in addition to weekly picks we also have head-to-head mini-rivalries between pickers.  Matt and I started it a ways back (has it really been nine friggin' years?) and others have followed suit.

I don't know if that would interest you, but maybe you can find a dance partner.

10-4 so far this week.  11-4 IF the Falcons don't fritter away the game.  (I love seeing GB getting pounded...)

No. I was just pointing out that we only disagreed on a couple of games.

The results...

Thursday, September 14

  • Texans at Bengals Wrong

Sunday, September 17

  • Browns at Ravens - Right

  • Bills at Panthers - Right.  Cam & that offense does not impress.

  • Cardinals at Colts - Right...but almost wrong.  WTF?

  • Titans at Jaguars - Right

  • Eagles at Chiefs - Right

  • Patriots at Saints - Right

  • Vikings at Steelers - WRONG. HAGERMAN RIGHT.  Would have been a different game had Bradford not sat out. If the Lions can find a way to lose tonight, this loss won't hurt us...

  • Bears at Buccaneers - Right

  • Dolphins at Chargers - Wrong. Get. A. New. Kicker.

  • Jets at Raiders - Right

  • Cowboys at Broncos - RIGHT. HAGERMAN WRONG!!! I have no faith in the 'boys D.  Big reason why I picked against them this week.

  • Redskins at Rams - WRONG. HAGERMAN RIGHT. Didn't have much faith in the Rams, but had even less in the 'skins.

  • 49ers at Seahawks - Right...but almost wrong Part II.  The Chickens have some big problems...

  • Packers at Falcons - RIGHT.  HAGERMAN WRONG!!! I love watching the Cheeseheads get their asses handed to them!

For the week, I'm 11-4 and 2-2 v Hagerman with one game to go.  For one night, I'm a Giants fan.  GO G-MEN!!!
