We probably all have incidental music in our heads (from various films and shows). It's a shame we don't really have access to them.

Sure, a CD-set based on, say, the SUPERMAN movies (I used to own such a set) will feature incidental music. Those CDs were pretty comprehensive. But the rest, well it's not so easy. If certain films/TV shows did feature incidental music, the CDs are long out of print (or whatever the term is for obsolete CDs).

I mean, there was some good incidental music in various episodes of THE A-TEAM. I'd love to own it, particularly some great music featured in the episode "The Taxicab Wars".

And then there's THE MIGHTY THOR cartoon (60s). There was some great incidental music in some episodes. I love the music that plays whilst Thor and Hercules fight in New York. That's something I'd definitely like on CD.

Thoughts?

I love the music from the 70's Spider-Man
television show. The theme music is ok,
but there's a specific riff done on guitar
when he would climb buildings. To my
knowledge, it's never been commercialLy
released.

I know of what you speak, Stephen. It's a good theme, has a certain mystique.

Maybe I should set up my own music company, there to solely sell incidental music.

I had the main theme for ROBINSON CRUSOE on a cassette tape once, but no incidental music. It was hauntingly beautiful.

It was a cassette by Geoff Love's orchestra. I think one side was film themes (SUPERMAN, STAR WARS), the other side was TV themes. I could be wrong, though. I bought a lot of film/TV themes back in the day so I can't recall the exact title of the release.

I remember those Geoff Love albums! I also vaguely
remember an 80's tv advert featuring Lenny Henry as a
castaway that featured the Robinson Crusoe
theme...brought back memories of seemingly endless 6 week
summer school holidays!

I don't think it was Geoff Love's cassettes that had the CRUSOE theme on, but I had a few.

One tape had THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. on the cover, the themes included various Gerry Anderson shows, MANNIX, etc.

As a kid, I would regularly tape music from TV shows. I had loads of them. As digital came in, I would plug the output from my computer in to the input and record bits I like.

My particular grails are the music to the Channel 4 series Ultraviolet and a piece from NOW AND AGAIN that was played when the lead lost his memory and was taken to see his wife, being chased by the government at the time - a piece called Haunted Heart by Dow McKeever
