Dudley Simpson, whose contributions to DR WHO music should never be understated, has passed away at the age of 95:

Never underestimate the importance of music, eh?

He also did some work on shows like BLAKE'S 7 and THE TOMORROW PEOPLE. Quite a talent.

Simpson's departure from DOCTOR WHO was unfortunate. I believe he continued providing music for other shows for many years after he was essentially pushed out by John-Nathan Turner.

The Tomorrow People - a kid's show. With one of the best, most scary theme tunes ever written.

Dudley Simpson wrote some really good music.

I agree. The theme is hauntingly beautiful, a little unnerving - and timeless.
