It's onside kick time.

  • Titans at Steelers - Steelers, at home, in prime time, versus a team with a winning record.  Should be a Steeler win.  But if they're gonna fuck it up, at least I should wrangle a W out of it.

Thursday, November 16

  • Titans at Steelers - HAGERMAN DISAGREES!!!  I see what you did there.  I've never had much faith in the Titans as they are currently assembled and think that the Steelers at home are pretty hard to beat.

Titans at Steelers  The Titans did clock the Jaguars on the road (their most impressive win of the year) but that was 8 weeks ago and their more recent road games include a slaughter by the 3-6 Texans, a sleepwalk loss in 4-5 Miami and a feckless, unconvincing 12-9 win at 0-9 Cleveland.  Recently they've eked out wins against mediocre clubs but Pittsburgh is better than that and wins this one easily.

Strategery!

Seriously: I am gonna be swinging wildly from here out.  Desperation is a stinky cologne, and I am slathered in it.

Thursday, November 16

  • Titans at Steelers- Short week for the Steelers. Oilers win in this AFC Central rivalry.

Sunday, November 19

  • Lions at Bears- Lions cannot wait until the 4th this time.

  • Jaguars at Browns- Not yet Cleveland ,but soon.

  • Ravens at Packers- Wishful thinking.

  • Cardinals at Texans

  • Rams at Vikings- Wishful thinking part 2.

  • Redskins at Saints- Crap, I just realized I picked all away games to this point.

  • Chiefs at Giants- Another away game.

  • Buccaneers at Dolphins

  • Bills at Chargers- Don't trust the Bolts as far as I can throw Rivers. Not even sure which QB's will be in this game.

  • Bengals at Broncos

  • Patriots at Raiders- Had to get another home game in there, Raiders give the Pats a hard time.

  • Eagles at Cowboys- Should be a good one .

Monday, November 20

  • Falcons at Seahawks- 10 away games picked. May not bode well for me.

FYI, the Pats-Raiders game is in Mexico, in case that matters to anyone.

Forgot to do this. Won't post my pick for Steelers-Titans since I'm doing this after the game is over.

Lions
Jaguars
Packers
Texans
Rams
Saints
Chiefs
Dolphins
Bills
Broncos
Patriots
Eagles (My pick would be different if Elliott was playing, so Goodell can go fuck himself.)

Falcons

Cute, but the divisions have been separated for a long, long time.  The Steelers are in the North and don't really consider the Titans a rival. The Titans, on the other hand, haven't been in Houston as the Oilers in two decades and have been the Titans for 18.

Either way, the Titans got slaughtered.

The fact my team won lessens the pain.

If I mount a furious comeback and lose by one game, the pain may recur, of course.

Why can't they play this well consistently? Argh!

Glad to see Bell got a little break tonight.

Yeah, yeah I know. I rooted for the OIlers back in the day (a Lions fan needs a backup team). Even subscribed to their magazine. The Steelers were the enemy, I still say Renfro made that catch in the end zone in the Championship game!

Doug, Renfro DID make that catch in '79.

Yes, but according to the ref's not in the end zone!

I'm still grumbling about it after all these years...

I remember that Oilers game!  That was probably the third or fourth game, tops, I ever watched.  I had no idea what was going on.

The rest o' my (horrible) picks:

Sunday, November 19

  • Lions at Bears

  • Jaguars at Browns

  • Ravens at Packers

  • Cardinals at Texans

  • Rams at Vikings

  • Redskins at Saints

  • Chiefs at Giants

  • Buccaneers at Dolphins

  • Bills at Chargers

  • Bengals at Broncos

  • Patriots at Raiders

  • Eagles at Cowboys

Monday, November 20

  • Falcons at Seahawks

Feast on those, Matt.

Sunday, November 19

  • Lions at Bears

  • Jaguars at Browns

  • Ravens at Packers - HAGERMAN DISAGREES!!  I have a little more faith in the Ravens D than I do the Packers O.

  • Cardinals at Texans

  • Rams at Vikings - HAGERMAN DISAGREES!!! I was always going to pick the Vikes.  These are the kinds of games we need to win...and I have faith that we will.  SKOL VIKINGS!!!

  • Redskins at Saints

  • Chiefs at Giants

  • Buccaneers at Dolphins

  • Bills at Chargers

  • Bengals at Broncos

  • Patriots at Raiders

  • Eagles at Cowboys

Monday, November 20

  • Falcons at Seahawks - I want to pick the 'hawks at home, but they've suffered too many injuries at key positions on that D for me to feel good about a disagree here.

Only three total disagrees.  Too many games between subpar teams that could go either way to risk wasting picks.

Sunday, November 19

  • Lions at Bears

  • Jaguars at Browns

  • Ravens at Packers

  • Cardinals at Texans

  • Rams at Vikings Two teams underrated preseason both now perhaps a bit overrated.

  • Redskins at Saints Didn't think NO would win 8 straight after starting 0-2.

  • Chiefs at Giants Massacre at MetLife.

  • Buccaneers at Dolphins Bucs winless on the road.

  • Bills at Chargers Bills are playing for more than the Bolts.

  • Bengals at Broncos

  • Patriots at Raiders

  • Eagles at Cowboys Philly win basically locks up the div.

Monday, November 20

Falcons at Seahawks - Atlanta should be better than Seattle but hasn't played like it.

Early games...

Sunday, November 19

  • Lions at Bears - Right...but soooo close to OT.

  • Jaguars at Browns - Right

  • Ravens at Packers - RIGHT!!! HAGERMAN WRONG!!  I was right to trust the Ravens D.

  • Cardinals at Texans  - Right

  • Rams at Vikings - RIGHT!!! HAGERMAN WRONG!!! Dominating performance by the Vikes D.  Kept the highflying Rams to just 7 points.  No one, and I mean no one, outside of Vikings fans picked us to win. Now we're 8-2. SKOL VIKINGS!!!

  • Redskins at Saints - Right.  What a demoralizing loss for the Skins who looked like they had this one all wrapped up.

  • Chiefs at Giants - Wrong.  Ugly loss by the Chiefs.

  • Buccaneers at Dolphins - Right.

8-1 on the week so far.  Excellent.  3-0 v Hagerman with no more disagrees left.  Great weekend of football!!!

I didn't do my research, because there's no way in hell I'd have picked the Bills had I known that Peterman was going to start.

But I stand by all my other picks that I got wrong.

The carnage continues.  Unless Matt refuses to make picks one week, this thing is over.  Any time Matt and I disagree on NFC North games I feel my guts tighten up.

I don't know what the Bills were thinking but I'm glad they were thinking it because it made my pick a no-brainer.  I bet Tyrod Taylor slept like a baby on that flight home - if he could stop laughing long enough.

The Jacksonville Jaguars swept the AFC North and the narrowest margin of victory was, of course, against the Browns.  I love this fucking game.

Belated thanks, Rich!  I missed that.  And I missed your post about it.  Then I saw your post and forgot to thank you.  And then I remembered!  Confused?  You won't be, after this episode of Soap...
