Things have kind of come full circle, since back in the 50's and 60's they Superman-ized Batman. At least then Superman was a well rounded character, so it didn't do that much violence to Batman. Its not just that they're trying to make Superman into Batman, its that they're trying to make him into a bad, one-note characterization of Batman.
Well, can we expect most of these modern day columnists to be bothered to actually do research, or even consider the actual comic book stories beyond the most well-known event comics and best-selling graphic novel reprints? Naturally, Bruce Timm and gang created the animated versions whole cloth, without drawing anything from the comic books, right? Sigh.
