Spider-Man had JUST been created when the panel with the "eyes" appeared. Hardly a "Mopee."

I liked some of Elliot S! Maggin's Superman stories but "The Sword of Superman" was and is not among them.

SUPERMAN/BATMAN had lots of non-canonical stories. The one I hated most was the idea that Jor-El contacted Thomas Wayne before he sent baby Kal-El to Earth and this convinced him that Earth was the right place to send the baby. Not sure "Mopee" can be applied to stories which are clearly non-canonical, but man, what a dumbass idea.

Neal Adams drew the irises on Green Arrow or Batman's white eyes every so often whenever it helped the storytelling--but those were usually close-ups, so I got the idea that the white eyes were a little bit see-thru.

I we ask politely, I'm sure Steve Ditko will show us his artistic license.

There was that messed up story in Superboy #158, where Superboy finds his parents survived the destruction of Krypton. However, Jor-El had contracted a kryptonite disease that was killing him and Lara. Superboy finds their rocket coffin, stuff happens and everybody promptly forgot all about it.

Sorry Wallace, but some of those wacky powers that they gave Namor might have made the stories fun (like puffing up like a swellfish or generating an electric shock like and eel in Strange Tales #107) but they're Mopees through and through!

Also, Johnny's flame listening device in Fantastic Four Annual #1.

Iceman making ice cream.

They took a lot of liberties with the Human Torch and Iceman early on.

And where did Hercules carry that mace anyway?
