I just came back from going through the dollar boxes at the comic shop and there were a lot of New Universe titles in there to look at.  Yep, DP7 looked pretty good--almost got me (too many missing issues though--I'd like to start with #1).  MERC was interesting---just to see Gray Morrow inked by (of all people) Vince Colletta!  (Oddly compelling.)

I imagine if a couple of these were done as a regular Marvel, they might have survived (or been brought back), while something like SPEEDBALL might have fared better in the New Universe.

Sadly, that house ad was the best thing about the New Universe.
