Great outcome. Still distraught that it took the GOP putting up a troglodytic scumbag to get a Democrat elected in Alabama.

Tangentially: Down with the Electoral College! 730,000 Alabamians voted for Hillary, and every single one of their votes counted for nothing.

I'm a Republican and I'm glad this happened. Personally, I'd like to think that if outside interests had stayed out of the state that Jones would have won by more than he did.

I didn't expect this.

Surprisingly, 45 appeared gracious on Twitter, but then soon went back to tweeting about 'fake news' (translation: any media outlets that hold me to account with FACTS are 'fake news').

In his tweet, Trump wrote:
"The people of Alabama are great, and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time. It never ends!"

What short period of time?? Jones will be Senator till January 2021! What does he mean by "short period of time!"??

Regardless, I'm really looking forward to the Mid-terms next year!!!

With his established expertise on the whole system, perhaps Rump thinks the seat will come up again in the mid-terms!

Or perhaps he thinks he can void this election with an Executive Order.

You have to swear on the Christian bible!

I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or both.

That was the funniest thing I've seen all week, Michael. Hope nobody tells that guy that the virgin birth stories in Matthew and Luke don't match up--don't think his system could take the strain.

If elected, can I use the Catholic Bible, which I believe has extra books.

And will the New King James Version do?

Last night's Victory, that I wanted so badly but did not believe possible, had us laughing and giggling like kids on xmas.

Felt like we won back a sliver of our humanity and dignity. Hope the good people of the country can keep up the momentum.

Robbie, that's the point... The person swearing in can choose what book is used for them to swear in. So, presumably,  yes is the answer to your question.
