It's not too early to call (although the Washington Post has already done it). The two urban centers of Alabama, Montgomery and Jefferson counties, haven't been called but are HUGE for Jones.
This is a historic rebuke of not only Trump, but the entire Republican party just over 365 days in total control.

12 counties turned the tide. That's the number of counties that were firmly Trump who flipped and voted for Jones.
Amazing.

I really didn't think it would happen. If I bet money it would have been on Moore. I stayed off line for an extra few hours so I could savor living in a world where is was possible enough good people might live in Alabama to turn an election. And there were. Feels great to be wrong.

I had not been getting my hopes up, but this morning's news is promising. Perhaps this is a sign of things to come in 2018. I would like to note that Rump has endorsed three losers.

Honestly I think the GOP is ok with this. The headache Moore would have been on them for months during an ethics investigation would have been draining. The seat will probably turn red again in 2 years , but you never know.
Good job Alabama!

A victory for Country over Party! I'm proud of Alabama for voting for the best PERSON, not the political subdivision they like best. And they hardly put a "liberal" in office. Jones is rather moderate, and would be considered conservative in California.
