The original miniseries was so well done because it really worked on that neighborhood level, that these were just ordinary people thrown into a situation they never thought could happen.  And the evil insidiously starts happening, with the scientists being ostracized and blackballed.  I love watching how the whole resistance begins, small gatherings in the back of a dry cleaners, etc. And then Julie's breakdown about how everybody is looking to her to lead when she doesn't even know what she's doing.  It's a very elegantly put together miniseries. The second was all action and yes, was very satisfying for conclusions but now I prefer the original more, ending with Elias and Julie wondering if help will ever come.

Faye Grant was cute as hell in the original "V".

That adds little to this thread, but it's still worth pointing out.

This thread could become very Eomer and Gimli over Arwen and Galadriel!

Edited: initially typed "Legolas" rather than Eomer. I shall hang my head in shame for the rest of the day.
