What ruined pro wrestling titles for me? Edge.

When he lost an Elimination Chamber match, only to be put into the other Elimination Chamber match on the same show and win, that was the last straw for me. Showed the title to be a prop, and his win not being overturned did not make sense.

I used to be an Edge fan, but the way most of his world title wins were done were bs, and on top of that he had the worst Spear I've ever seen (outside Gillberg, but his were supposed to be awful). One particular time he `speared' Kane, it literally looked like a running hug, but was sold as if he'd been hit with Goldberg's cough up a lung version.

Brian, are you sure it wasn't Russo that ruined pro wrestling titles for you? ;-)

I mean, just why on earth did he hold the world title for two days?

And lets not forget David Arquette.

Russo didn't ruin titles for me. But he did ruin WCW for me.

I think one issue with titles is that some lost their importance over time.

I remember when Bret Hart challenged Mr. Perfect for the I-C Title in late 1991. It felt important. It was presented as important. The men made that title prestigious. It was treated as a title of great importance even though it was the secondary title in the WWF.

Can the same be said of other eras? Not always.
