Wes Anderson, stop-motion animation, and dogs. Even without seeing the trailer and cast list, Id be intrigued. Anyone get a chance to see this on the festival circuit yet?

Looks fun - will see it this weekend. Has a similar feel, of course, to Wes' Fantastic Mr. Fox, which was great.

Love that stop motion and I've enjoyed most of Wes Anderson's other films. I'll definitely be seeing this.

And of course my crappy local Cinemark isn't getting it. Hoping our little local indie theater will get it.

My town's not getting it either. They also passed on La La Land.

I've only enjoyed one Anderson movie, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, so this one is not on my radar.

Like JB, I was not a fan of Wes Anderson until THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, which turned out to be a film I absolutely love. I didn't like anything before it (except to a degree the original short film of "Bottle Rocket"), but BUDAPEST has become so dear to my heart, I'm definitely willing to give Anderson a chance with ISLE OF DOGS, since it's his first movie since BUDAPEST.

I love Anderson's work, especially FANTASTIC MR. FOX, so I am all in for this one.  I just have to catch it in theaters fast before it leaves!

Saw this earlier this week and it is work catching. Some of the animation is simply wonderful - the three drummers from the trailer open and close the film; I think I could watch a whole movie of them.

I'm a Wes Anderson fan, although sometimes I'm unpredictably put-off by certain of his films. I was looking forward to this, until I started reading the I'm-not-crying-you're-crying reviews from my friends. But it's been a stressful week at work so I dragged myself through a four mile walk, a yoga class, beef phad thai, and then this movie, and I enjoyed it very much. Yes, there are tear-jerking moments and too many dog-related gut-punches to recommend it to say my sister it's thankfully no OLD YELLER. It's a lot of fun. Clever, tense, exciting, fast-paced and I laughed a lot.
