Flight would be wonderful...

•••

Would it? How high? How fast? Zipping over to the grocery store, flight would be quite handy. But going to Paris for lunch would be more of a problem. That's where the need for invulnerability kicks in. Flying anywhere in the world would require speeds many times faster than Concorde. And you'd need to be able to breathe, too!!

Invisibility would probably be handy, also.

I think folk, myself included, would underestimate conditions if we could fly. Jeez, as a kid, I climbed trees that were often too high (and got admonished). As an adult with flight? I could imagine myself stupidly flying too high or too fast.

Birds fly into aircraft. Bats fly into wind turbines. And they (I think) have "internal navigation systems". We don't. I could imagine it could get quite messy.

And humans can be selfish. Someone smoking in the air would no doubt just drop his cigarette or cigar without thinking where it would land!

Some days, I wouldn't mind being a telepath like Charles Xavier, or a healing factor (retractable claws optional!) like Wolverine.

I might go for the healing factor too, Charles.

Despite being terrified by The Incredible Shrinking Man as a child, I've also thought that the Atom's shrinking powers might be fun to have...though, with my luck, I'd get stepped on, five minutes after shrinking to 25 millimeters tall. Or eaten by a bird, maybe.

I've always wanted Bullseye's power - perfect aim.

The worst power ever was on that tv show HEROE, where some poor miserable bastard in Africa was gifted with the ability to see visions of the past and future specifically involving... the portly telepathy character played by Greg Grunberg. LAME.

I don't know if there is a worst power. Even the ability to talk to Squirrels  has been used rather creatively well. I've heard invisibility mentioned as being weak, but I think it would be quite awesome, if not easy to abuse.

I polled a class years ago about what super power they wished to have, and every one said flying. Each wrote their answer, so it wasn't that they were copying either. Flight would take away that fear of falling, and fear of heights...hopefully.

Time travel would be my power of choice.

As for worst power, given that HEROES been mentioned, the ability to draw comic books that tell the future would not be top of my list....

I want the power to fix stupid people....;-)

But if I were to pick just one "real" power,  a super brain, like in the movie Limitless.

Worse power ever? Any power that mutates the body would suck.

Time travel presents the same basic problems as teleportation.
