Excellent insight into Trump's warped mind.

I never get into the political discussion on here, but I'll say one thing...
At this stage in the game, there's nothing Trump can do or say that shocks me. He is who he is (and always has been) and that's that. It's the people willing to bend reality to the point that it snaps to support and defend him that still drops my jaw.

Ronald, I'm not considering being shocked by Trump. My dread is that he will do something big and stupid... say, attack Russia or North Korea directly. As you noted, I put nothing past him. Or to quote the Underminer, ",,,Nothing is beneath me!"
He is a clown, a buffoon. If he were not president, he would make a fine mockery on a late night TV show, to be taunted, insulted, and shamed - all without his knowledge.
Too many people, I believe, who couldn't relate to a politician who used proper English. Not highest class speech... I think Mrs. Clinton tried to speak in a standard format. But Trump spoke in a manner to try to reach the lowest common denominator, and too many didn't realize that it's how he speaks... it's not him trying to adjust his method to reach that LCD.

I am not usually one for hyperbole, but when Trump loses in 2020 (fingers crossed), I can imagine him implying, in his usual sneaky way, that voting was rigged. And for his supporters, a conspiracy theory like that would be enough to get them angry.
I'm not suggesting it'd lead to a civil war or anything, just that Trump would put the doubt in people's heads.

The same people, in the same states, are going to vote for him in 2020. The DNC is going to have to find someone who walks on (rising) water to beat him.

"Ready for his second term?"
... Right.
The scary part is he is not talking any different than before he was elected, and yet voted in he was. So unless a multitude of Trump voters come to their senses (as seen in recent congressional races) or the citizens who felt they didn't need to vote come out, we may see Act II.

I don't see yet any particular reason why Trump would be primed to lose re-election.

How long does it take to change an amendment? If he starts pushing now, maybe he can get a THIRD term.

Since the presidency wreaks physical havoc on office-holders, I wonder how healthy Trump will be by 2020.

The same people, in the same states, are going to vote for him in 2020. The DNC is going to have to find someone who walks on (rising) water to beat him.-------------------------------- Trump won Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin by a fraction of a percent and Florida by 1.2%, while losing the popular vote by a couple of percentage points.
Yes, Trump may get a fillip from actually being in the role, which has tended to benefit candidates in the past, but he was also aided in the last election by a distrust/dislike of Hillary Clinton that was evidently held by a significant number of voters. I'm not sure it's going to be that hard to find a candidate who is more popular than Hillary.
