I have a 9 yr old son that is absolutely
looking forward to this. I'm mildly
interested, he was bouncing off the walls
after watching this.

I thought the trailer looked very intriguing, but having been somewhat disappointed by both Legendary's last GODZILLA and KONG films, I will keep my expectations in check. I've been told Legendary has put great effort into addressing some of the major criticisms the previous film received and I hope that's the case.

Footage is fake. Clips taken from "Yeti: Giant of the 21st Century.

Over all I'm looking forward to it. looks like there are 2 Rodan in the trailer too. I can guess what happens if I recall the original Rodan correctly....looks like they may literally do the same plot there.

I too hope they make the monsters the main characters of the story, but alas, i doubt that will happen.

I think the Mothra and Ghidorah silhouettes looked fantastic.

Isn't it pronounced Ghe-DOR-ah and not gi-der-a? I heard a female commentator say gi-der-a and i was like...thats wrong.

Yeah, it's Ghe-DOR-ah.
But I will admit to speaking it as GEE-drah since chilhood.

GEE-drah does ring a bell. I wonder if one of the early movies had it named thus?

Yes, the footage is from another movie. The mystery is whether EDO was real.

King Ghidorah’s name is a play on the Japanese transcription of the word “hydra”, HI-DO-RA (hee-doe-rah), becoming GI-DO-RA (ghi-doe-rah). So I can understand why some of the English translations go with Ghi-drah.

Godzilla is still off-model, Ghidorah is from Earth?

No positive expectations.

Here's some fun for this thread: LINK

Apparently we now have our first sneak peeks at the monster designs for the movie, in articulated figure form:

G:KotM SHMonsterArts Prototypes

King Ghidorah seems to have skipped leg day, Mothra is now apparently bipedal, and Godzilla 2014 has had a redo of his dorsal spines. Rodan looks pretty good...
