Disneyland is considered more of a "local" park than Disney World. From June 1st through August 25th, Disneyland blocked out the entire summer for people who bought the Southern California Annual Pass. Non-locals  decided to wait a year to go to Galaxy's Edge because  they figured it would be extremely crowded with local annual passholders.

Not to mention that the Disney Parks hiked up all their annual passes significantly and made what had been the cheapest option for So Cal Residents renewal only. A lot of the locals were priced out of Disneyland.

Making a new planet for GE was a smart move. I'd like to visit Tatooine as much as anyone, but it sure would be weird for Mos Eisley to experience a sudden downpour.

Darth Vader is back at Hollywood Studios. He's got a meet and greet at the Launch Bay, across the park. (They didn't want to mix time periods in Galaxy's Edge.)

Made reservations for the Droid Depot to make 3 droids.
Here's a link that describes the process.
