This is my feeble, carpal tunneled attempt at inking the last page of Elsewhen 2. I tried various brush pens in attempts to vary my line weights, some being more successful than others. It was a nice way to enjoy a quite Saturday and Sunday though.

You guys are all playing a cruel joke on me, and I don't appreciate it one bit.

I'm fairly sure that was a compliment, Mike.

Wallace only realized in the last day that Elsewhen was being released via the Fan Fic section. He is just venting about being very late to the party and only seeing pages here in the inking forum. :)
I don't think it is anything personal.

I started to ink this amazing Splash page on my lunch breaks.

I have some transferable skills from my day-job but I am by no means a qualified inker. I'd need a good couple of years working on monthly comics to get the start of a feel for what line (Or sequence of---) best works reduced*. Then I'd need the same time again to really get to know the artist I was inking. I always admired long artistic partnerships, Like Byrne/Austin or Davis/Neary/Farmer.

That said I inked the Colossus on today lunch break and I'm pretty pleased how that came out.

* 'Reduction' when working traditionally I seem to be okay with but digitally not-so-much.

Edit- to move a sentence.

Nice work, Darren. I hope, though, you don't mind me pointing out that the zipatone effect Terry Austin used for Storm's cape (which I believe is what your crosshatching is meant to represent) was only used on the underside of the cape. The top part looked similar to the material of the rest of her outfit.

…the zipatone effect Terry Austin used for Storm's cape…

••

That I did not like, and repeatedly asked him to stop using.
