Very true words, Matt!
Thanks Shane!  Although I just couldn't help myself - I went back to tweak some of the panels, particularly the last one. I think I'm finally getting a slightly better feel for how to 'shade' metal.
Ok, I'll stop obsessing over this page and look for a new one to obsess over

You continue not to suck, Paul.

Repeating advice: thinner on the background lines and, for that matter, don’t be afraid to go thicker on some of the foreground lines.

Xcelsior!

Much better Paul!   I love the texture you gave to both Doom's cloak and his face scarring. Great job!!

(: Thanks so much, JB!
I will really try to concentrate on that tip! When I'm inking on a larger scale of 11x17 it looks like my foreground lines are pretty big and the lines in back are small but when its reduced to comic size, I see exactly what you're saying. I have to understand how the final result will show. I'll get there!

Paul... if you can get your hands on any IDW Artists Editions of JBs work... you can see the actual artboard sized artwork and then compare it to your comics to see how things reproduce.  I love my 2 Byrne Artists Editions and look at them all the time!! Highly recommended for any Byrne fan.

I've been wanting to get a John Byrne IDW artist edition for a while now and I know that it would be very helpful (besides enjoyable) to look through. Hopefully soon!

I finished this one today. It had been sitting on my table waiting for blacks to be filled and I finally got around to it. =)

I'd love to get that as a pull quote from Mr. Byrne some day! LOL

Shane, thanks. I’m finding that extremely challenging pages force me to improve more quickly.

Inking these pages has been an exciting learning experience. Seeing everyone else’s inks is also fascinating. I like seeing each style develop. Very inspirational. Here’s my latest effort.

Wowsers, there are a lot of pages here now. I just had a great time looking through these.

Seeing the harder contrast certainly does play some of these images differently than how they are lovingly presented in pencil.

So very interesting to see peoples various takes/accents.
