To even implicate that any of these "men of god" should get a pass is ludicrous. And how, knowing their beliefs, they are not crippled with shame to the point of being blubbering masses tells me everything I need to know.

It's behind a paywall, so I can't read it, but I suspect
it is about all the child abuse. I think the whole pope
structure should be dissolved and done away with.

And hey! Let's remember that not only is this against all the tenets of the Catholic Church... but it's also a MAJOR FELONY. Can a priest or cardinal (or whatever other ranks they use) be arrested while they're vested? Defrocking them means that they can have all the homosexual sex they want to their hearts' contents, I s'pose.

Let's remember that in a lot of cases, these allegations are around pedophilia
so it's not homosexual sex they're interested in at all.

Paul K. - perhaps you're right, but available evidence suggests that they are raping males, not females. Obviously, they've more access to males than females, so that may skew the statistics somewhat.
Still, this isn't 1870. There are females around the church now. They still seem to have the same desire.
And in any case, I think it's an apples-and-oranges discussion.

There’s been a lot of concern lately over priests having forced sexual encounters with nuns. A LOT.

Hey Eric,
What I'm trying to draw a distinction between is homosexual desires and
pedophilia. They are very different.
Most of the cases I've heard of involve children.

I would no more call these horrifically evil crimes of abuse against children "homosexual offenses" than I would call rapes against women "heterosexual offenses".
