Yep, it was shot last year from October to December in Toronto.

D'oh, I stand corrected. But it amuses me even more that they intentionally chose to set it there.

Yes of course.
When you will conquer the planet, would you not always start on Staten Island ?

Getting caught up on the series and am loving it.  It's got the same sensibility as the movie (no easy task) while being its own thing.  Matt Berry is hilarious as "Laszlo", but I expect nothing less after his turn on THE IT CROWD.  Kayvan Novak as "Nandor" is a comedic discovery for me.  Never heard of him before, but he consistently cracks me up.  I also love the addition of an "energy vampire" in the form of "Colin Robinson".  A brilliant twist on a character most of us have actually encountered in our day to day lives.

Here's hoping the series does well enough for a second season.  Based on what I've seen so far, it certainly deserves it!

Matt - the series has been renewed already.

(I haven't started on it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.)

Solid first season closer. Nice twist for Guillermo.

Still catching up. Just watched the "Trial" episode last night and that's the best one so far. I replayed the scene of Lazlo squirming from the prisoner's anger several times, making me laugh out loud each time. It's subtle but executed perfectly. Loved the cameos.

Finally got round to watching this, and enjoyed it very much (although I've yet to watch the original film).

I'm a fan of Matt Berry, and would urge people who may not have seen it to watch Toast Of London. I've still to watch Year Of The Rabbit.

Bonus 2 episodes to open the second season!
Got some laughs in. Colin Robinson is excruciating to watch every time he speaks, and that's the point, brilliantly played. I honestly feel my energy being drained by him!

Here's to no sophomore slump!
