I love that the moment those monsters were vulnerable, Cyclops nails two of them in one shot. Every JB action reveals some character.

Nice conclusion to Willy’s story. I liked how Cerebro was explained.

JB, how are you putting the word balloons onto the page? Is there a program you’re using?

I draw the balloons in Photoshop, using the “Layers” function. I use a fairly fat brush tool, creating the balloon shapes as solid black, add the pointers, and then use the “Find Edges” function to “draw” the holding lines.

Probably dozens of other ways to do it, but this best serves my “process”.

Interesting! I think that way works as well as anything. They’ve seemed very naturally drawn, so it had me wondering.

Thanks!

“Naturally drawn” was my key focus. In NEW VISIONS I used the Ps ellipse tool to create most of my balloon shapes, but for ELSEWHEN I wanted something more organic.

Wow. I just finished issue 3 and I have many thoughts about it.

First, I will repeat what everybody says but the art is amazing. The details on the bodies, the face expressions, the urban and outdoor backgrounds...

You don't need dialogue to understand what the characters feel!!

About the story itself, it's wonderful to read a simple super hero story in one single issue where the heroes are heroes, the bad guys are bad guys and the purpose of the team is clear!

20 pages, David!

I know a while back I mentioned that I'd realized I did not actually need to restrict myself to Marvel's standard page count, going longer or shorter as needed, but at that point there were about 8 issues in the drawer, so it will be a while before you see any variation in the page count.
