Unfortunely with this news, a lot of powerful men just breathed sighs of relief.

He was on Suicide Watch.

Apparently this means "watch him commit suicide".

Suspicious to say the least. Reminds me of those convenient suicides that happen in Russia lately.

I was surprised to find out that Epstein's alleged partner-in-crime, Ghislaine Maxwell, is the daughter of the late Robert Maxwell. Who was a media tycoon and rival to Rupert Murdoch, and died under mysterious circumstances.

He was taken off of "suicide watch" for some reason, even though it seemed he had attempted to harm himself early on during his incarceration.

This is extremely convenient.

At best, I could assume the guard(s) carelessly "allowed" him to carry out this act on purpose, perhaps as part of some misguided pettiness. Yet it leaves his victims lacking true justice and curiously happens to benefit those who were involved in his criminal activities.

At worst...I won't actively propose any conspiracy theories, but foul play can't be ruled out at this point.

Eager to see how taking him off suicide watch within 6 days is going to be attempted to be justified.

So the feds can keep El Chapo from escaping,  but can't keep a VERY HIGH PROFILE registered pedophile from committing suicide?

If it wasn't for the seriousness of the situation,  this has a Godfather II/Frank Pentangeli feel  to it.

Indeed. You could eventually imagine a motion picture adaptation of this whole mess being made after a couple of decades. But right now, I am also feeling concerned about how quickly several politicians are jumping at the chance to use this man's death as part of their propaganda. We still don't know what just happened.

It may be highly dangerous to say so but didn't this man use to be a very good friend of the current US president ?
