I see LEGO has come out with a playset based on the show. Pretty good LEGO-ization of the Central Perk set, tho I feel inclined to waggle a scolding finger at them for "demoting" Rachel back to waitress status. Of all the characters, hers had the most professional growth over the ten year run.
And, no, I won't be picking this up!

BTW, nostalgia blip from the chair in which "Ross" is sitting. The way the pieces in the arm fit together reminds me of a toy I had as a child, but I cannot remember what it was!

That's really cool!!
I like that it has the TV set lights, acknowledging it's a proscenium set. I love the multi-cam, live audience format that gives the show a theatrical feel. I know that single camera is the more popular format now, but I liked it when multi-cam reigned.

It's frustrating trying to find this set on Amazon as Lego has an entire series called "Lego Friends" that has zero to do with the NBC series!

I see what you mean, Matt. I have tried several variations on FRIENDS.CENTRAL. PERK.TV.SET and get nothing. The toy set is not being released until Sept 1, but I'd have thought it would be available for pre-order!(And, again, I don't plan to buy it.)

I looked it up by set number, Matt. Amazon doesn’t appear to have it at the moment. I found a couple on eBay for $150, tho.

Meanwhile, a few years back I thought I'd try my hand at modeling Monica's apartment, and got exactly this far before I realized that way lay madness. . .

Meanwhile, looking for the LEGO set, I came upon an article that mentioned the rent on Monica’s apartment was $200 a month. Quick search showed several other sites with the same number. On the show several references were made to the apartment being Monica’s grandmother’s and rent controlled, but I don’t recall that $200 being mentioned. Why would she need roommates if it was that low? Anybody recall an episode that cited this number?

Seems like I remember hearing them say it was that low due to some rent control agreement her grandmother was in before she died.

Which is what I said. I’m looking for a specific reference to that $200 number.

I'm no FRIENDS authority, but I suspect that the precise $200/mo figure is apocryphal.

Probably. I find multiple references to the $200, but none give an episode title.
