Yes, I made a point to show my son that when Mr. Adams first began on Batman, he was not instantly revolutionary in some bludgeoning manner. No ego, on-model! Oh, for those days...!

Agreed on Mr. Adams' work on Batman. Those Brave and the Bold covers, and far too few interiors, really showed a guy who - exactly as Mr. Byrne cited (and performs) - was a professional.

These days, I rather doubt that one could find a true model sheet anywhere at DC or Marvel. After those movies did their own damned versions of the heroes, and the comics felt obligated to play along, consistency has gone to hell.

I recommend Superman: The Man of Steel #37 - "Bats!" to see a variety of versions of Batman, and all masterfully done by Jon Bogdanove. Especially the Neal Adams take (which character I missed SO... and there he was in Zero Hour!) I hate what happened to pull Batman off-model... but so loved the treatment in this book.

Well I'm happy to say that I just put my order in. I will soon be a proud owner of the John Byrne Marvel Classics Artifact Edition!

I am particularly looking forward to seeing the MTU pages and of course the uninked goodness of the Captain America pencil pages. I really love your pencil pieces... then and now!

What MTU pages are included?

Are these whole issues in this thing or just random pages from stuff?

No whole issues. That would be an Artist's Edition.
