Another embarrassing performance by the Vols.  Just terrible.  In a game they should have dominated, they fell to BYU in double OT.

Just when you think they can't fall any farther, they say "hold my beer" and do just that.

Wow.

FYI best fan reaction video I've ever seen.  This from a Vols fan BEFORE their loss to BYU today:  Link

That’s great. Just imagine the video he made after yesterday’s game.

LSU/Texas was my kind of college football game - two top teams, a wild atmosphere and both teams showed up and swung for the fences.

I expect there to be some sort of shake up with the Vols. The defense was awful, and they lost due to blown assignments as much as overall bad play.

Someone on Facebook blamed the Georgia State loss on the QB. Ummm....yeah. Blame the team losing by 8 points when they're favored by 26+ and end up giving up 38 on the offense. The Vols shouldn't have given up more than 13 points to the Panthers.

I haven't checked FB yet, but if that person blames the BYU loss on the offense again, then they're clearly too mentally deficient to be watching football. Or related to someone on the defense.....

Thrilling win for the Gators.  I hate these kinds of games, but if they end up in a win I guess I can't complain.  Franks does as well as he can, but goes out to injury in the third.  Trask steps in and scores 19 unanswered points to lead the Gators to victory.  By all accounts, the Wildcats should have won that game but we find a way to pull victory from the jaws of defeat.

Interesting for the Gators moving forward.  Franks is done for the season.  It's Trask's team now.  I know Mullen is high on Trask, which speaks volumes, but how does he hold up during what will be a brutal October schedule: Auburn, LSU, South Carolina, Georgia?

Time will tell, but in the meantime....GO GATORS!!!!!

Thrilling win, but, man, that defense's complete inability to get off the field on 3rd and long is a major concern.

I will say when Trask came in, I knew the story of him leading the comeback win was there waiting to happen - and I was glad it did!

Next week should be interesting with Georgia/Notre Dame and Michigan/Wisconsin.

I so wish that Tennessee was the program it was two decades ago because that meant there was another powerhouse in the SEC East. But for whatever reason, they're as bad or worse than programs like Vandy...and at least Vandy has an excuse because they're an Ivy League school in the south.  Tennessee? SEC?  No excuse.  They're awful top to bottom and have been since before Fat Phil Fulmer was fired.  Say that three times fast!

As much as I'd love tomorrow (today for some) to be a game between the Vols and Gators, it's just not going to happen.  Knowing the Gators this season, it will probably be close in the first half but we'll end up covering the spread and then some even with our backup QB against what has been touted as an improved Vols squad.

Yeah. Right.

Tennessee.  What an embarrassment to college football.

Yes, we definitely need another SEC East powerhouse. Its boring watching Georgia own the division. Almost as boring as watching the Crimson Turd own the West and play for the national championship every year.

I was against Fulmer being fired to begin with, and history has proven me right. Just like everyone saying I was crazy because I wanted a Tennessee-Florida State matchup....until it happened.

As a Vols fan, I've been pretty much permanently pissed off since Fulmer was fired. And it just keeps. getting. worse.

Kiffin was a lousy choice, but he did almost beat Alabama. Lost because the team's kicker couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Only good thing I can say about his time as the head coach.

Dooley was a nice guy, but as a coach he was a joke. Jones was almost as bad a coach, but worse of a human being. I was not optimistic about either. Fool that I am, I actually was about Pruitt.

The problem right now is the defense. They've not been great shakes to begin with, but have gotten worse. Giving up 38 points to Georgia State, who shouldn't have scored more than 13, should have gotten some of the players in hot water. The BYU game went into overtime due to players on defense blowing assignments.

I suspect the new Defensive Coordinator will be looking for a new job after this season if not before. But some of the players need to go along with him. Its like they're not even trying.

Pruitt won't be in the hot seat unless they crap the bed and lose every game the rest of the season, because it would take $40 million to buy out his contract. Us fans (the reasonable ones, anyway) know they'll be losing to Georgia and Alabama. Florida, maybe. But if they lose to UAB, Pruitt will probably end up running the defense the last three games and might as well start working on a new resume.

Some unreasonable fans already want Pruitt gone and think the simple solution would be to make Fulmer the head coach again.

I think the Gators will win, but it won't be a blowout. Our offense is decent, but not great. We'll lose due to the garbage defense screwing up again, I'm sure. Only consolation is that they might actually draft a few good players after the season and bench some of the crappy starters if there are any still around.

When Jones was fired, a lot of fans and sportswriters wanted the school to pursue Les Miles, and were blasted for that suggestion. I was one of the blast-ers. Hindsight being what it is, I'm now kind of thinking that they should have.
