This is why I sometimes feel like I've been sucked into the bottommost pit of Hell.Growing up, I had to tolerate derision from my classmates and contemporaries (and not a few adults) who thought comics were not only for kids, but for DUMB kids. Other-media adaptations tended to be on the cheap. Superheroes especially were for comedy, for mocking. Then, a few of decades back, things started to around. Comicbook characters were not automatically to be laughed at. Serious interpretations became acceptable, even expected. So now, superhero movies, superhero TV shows are all the rage. Comic characters become points of cultural reference. And nothing that's being done with them has anything to do with the characters I know and love. Theaters are full of superhero movies--and I don't want to see ANY of them!!!
