Carlos, Christopher Priest is writing Deathstroke, not Marv Wolfman unless I am mistaken.

Yes, I know. What I mean is that, while not being a huge fan of the creator of the character, Deathstroke's appearances in the Titans and the rest of Marv's work in the 80s is much better than the new Deathstroke series. I have edited my message to make it more clear.

Over the years, I have realized that I dislike Marv's mature and overdramatic tone, I'm more into sci-fi, epic action, humor and other styles. But after reading a couple of modern comics, especially with new versions of his characters, he looks like the reincarnation of Jack Kirby.

"We're just starting to figure out how continuity works" says Dan DiDio.

Gee, Dan, it took you all this damn time?!?

Pardon my lack of faith in the Powers That Are at DC.

Have Dan Didio and Jim Lee actually read any comics?

 QUOTE:
In the wake of current DC series — including Doomsday Clock, Justice League and Superman — bringing back concepts that touch upon the past and future of DC’s mythology, DiDio said that the company was “reintroducing aspects of our history back into [our central universe], from the Justice Society all the way into the future of the Legion of Superheroes.”

The audience was then briefly shown a detailed timeline — too detailed to be legible onscreen — of the entire DC continuity, split into four distinct eras: “Dawn of the Heroic Age,” which DiDio explained begins with the arrival of Wonder Woman in Man’s World, before the Second World War; “The Space Age,” which begins with Superman’s debut; “The Age of Crisis,” which spans the period between the 1985 Crisis on Infinite Earths comic book series and 2011’s Flashpoint; and “The Flashpoint,” which was characterized as the current era of DC’s output.

After reading a couple of issues of the current event with "the Batman who laughs", I would add another era: "The Age of Jumping the Shark"

Continuity works best when you don't over think it. Charts and graphs = over thinking.

I have not read Mark Waid's the History of the Marvel Universe series but I did read that the series introduced a fictional war to cover some of Marvel's past military events/characters. So it is interesting that DC is also trying to "clean" things up -- it seems like a fool's errand for both companies.

I think Mike N has it right.

Carlos V. - "The Batman who laughs" - wasn't that a film starring Conrad Veidt? :)

I did it again. I checked another recent DC comic. This time Heroes in Crisis.

It's not what you think. The crisis is actually a mental one.

It's so bad. These writers do not understand neither super heroes nor science fiction stories.

In some of the collections, the art is good... that's it.

Somebody should buy the rights to the characters to stop this and release only good stories with them. I don't understand how millions of 30-40 year old people can pay money for this. DC deserves to go bankrupt.

So, because of ONE good movie, DC is rewriting its history AGAIN?!?

Their universe(s) will never be right until they bring back Earth 2 and Superboy.  It's like the tenth plastic surgery to fix a botched nose job that was never necessary in the first place.

Anyone remember when they did a timeline for Zero Hour?

It's like the same mistakes keep getting made over and over and nobody ever learns anything.

Greg Rucka wrote "Wonder Woman: Year One" not that long ago. It was clear that Diana's first appearance in Man's World was only...XX years ago. Not in 1941. Would DC really throw that out already? Given that Rucka is still working for DC (the LOIS LANE series is really, really good), I doubt it.

Maybe there's some time travel thing involved with this "Dawn of the Heroic Age" thing, or memory wiping (by the Spectre?), who knows. Maybe it's a slightly tweaked version of JB's Hippolyta story.

I think Greg is a pro and won't take it personally if they did.
