I loved THE SUPER COPS when I was young, and I always think
of that movie no matter what role Leibman appeared in. I
haven't seen the movie in so many years I'm not sure if it
was actually good! I really should revisit it at some

It was great that they cast him in FRIENDS - another
reminder of how they would cast excellent actors with
established track records. People like Leibman, Elliott
Gould, and Teri Garr would come aboard and just nail each
scene they were in.

The book, The Super Cops: The True Story of the Cops Called Batman and Robin, was one I got my hands on as a way-too-young child (most likely I found it in the thrift store, and my mom was all too happy to encourage my reading proclivities).

I finally saw the movie a few years ago, and while I enjoyed it mostly as a snapshot of early 1970s NYC, I don't think it could has possibly lived up to the expectations of what I pictured in my head* as I read it.

* I had a similar experience with the movie Poltergeist, having read the novelization when I was young and not seeing the movie until I was in my 30s.
