I don’t agree with that review at all.

Sounds like someone with an ax to grind.
You may not like the story, but the art? "C'mon Man!"

Just having some fun, I found that reviewer "Boots" rates another book highly which is somewhat ironic given his "review" has plenty of assaults on the language itself :)

The ironing is delictatious!

If asked to pick one superhero comic book to give a person new to
the genre, I would immediately choose BATMAN & CAPTAIN
AMERICA.

Of course I read the comment Matt posted, and I must say I do NOT understand the guy's problem with Cap's entry as drawn, nor why anyone should find it "embarrassing".

(I sometimes wish people who post negative “reviews” were required to post a short list of things they like, for context.)

My first two pages of original JB art came from Bat/Cap

That second page has a lot of Ditko in it.

It’s gratifying to see those pages find a good home.

Might be a little projection on my part as Robinson is my favorite Golden Age Batman artist.

***

Aside from the credit he gets for creating the Joker, Robinson rarely gets the credit he deserves as an extremely talented artist.

Now that I'm stuck in the apartment social distancing I should re-read this. It's definitely one of the best Marvel / DC crossovers ever.

By the way, to everyone here who owns original artwork from this story... I am sooooo jealous!
