I'm trying to remember the name of the movie about a guy
who has a watch can slow down time. That's really all I
can recall about it.

I thought it might be The Girl, The Gold Watch, and
Everything, but it is not.

Well, there was a sequel, with different actors playing the same characters. Could it have been that?

There was also an episode of the 80's version of The Twilight Zone that involved a watch that froze time. (Not a remake of the original series episode that involved one.)

I thought of TRANCERS, too. Can't say how much of a match it really is, tho.

The sequel Brian mentioned is called THE GIRL, THE GOLD WATCH, AND DYNAMITE. 1981.

CLOCKSTOPPERS is a movie about a kid who finds an old wristwatch that causes the world to stop when he dons it (everything is slowed down ala TOS "Wink of An Eye") but it's from 2002.

Here's a list from IMDB of 50 movies involving time freezing. Maybe yours is in it? link

What’s the “time freeze” in THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL?

I was asking myself the same question!

All I can think of was when Gort disintegrates the two guards, they're kind of froze in place. But I attribute that to the FX of the times.

The only movie I know of about a watch that does that came out in the early 2000's called Clock Stoppers.  And the only reason I know of it is because it was directed by Jonathan Frakes.

Thanks, guys. It's not TRANCERS for sure. The movie I'm
thinking of was more of a comedy/fantasy. Clock Stoppers
is too recent.

It could be THE GIRL, THE GOLD WATCH AND DYNAMITE. I
didn't know there was a sequel.
