Thanks for sharing, Nathan.

Many of the young reluctant readers I have known over the years became avid readers thanks to comics.

I would hazard a guess that the target audience for this would not have read it
because it's in comic book format!

I wish the people who didn't want comics to be accessible or even aimed at kids had taken that to heart. Without a lot of young readers you aren't going to have as many older readers, and there were times where there was very little available that would suit young readers. It always makes me feel good when I do see something innocent and fun in comic books! I used to love it when there was a little Super Turtle bonus in a Superman comic; got to have a little respite from a Kryptonian Leprosy story! :^)

One of Stan Lee's rules was that for each title's cover, the background cover colour and logo colour had to be different from the previous month. This way, a kid seeing only the title on the spinner rack would subliminally recognize if there was a new issue of FF, or if it was still last month's issue that he already bought, or had already decided not to purchase.

From the pages of CASSANDRA COMICS #0 (ALTERNATE-FOIL COVER).

Unfortunately, it came wrapped in a plastic sleeve and collectors refused to
tear it open and, thus, an entire generation missed this important message.

God. How true this message seems.

If we had kept kids buying comics, there might be a very different WORLD
today.

No idea if this is true or not (I have a naturally sceptical mind), but it sounds plausible and makes complete sense.

As for the title of this thread: because I feel like it, all right! We're in lockdown, OK?
