An amazing body of work - "Lean on Me," "Lovely Day,"
"Ain't No Sunshine," and "Just the Two of Us" are the big
ones for me. I have a 2009 best of collection, and the
whole disc is great. The Los Angeles Times did an
interview a few years ago with him - he was a brilliant and
dynamic artist.

A part of my childhood is gone. His music was played by my parents and older siblings in my home during this 70s.

"Lovely Day" and  "Just the Two of Us"  are my favorites.

I agree with Tim's list of the big ones. And they were really big. Lean On Me will live on for hundreds of years, I'm sure.

Is it sad that I'm relieved it was only due to old age?

Loved his voice and songs.  RIP

No, Shaun, not at all.

RIP to one of the most soulful of soul singers.

One of my favorites. Also, I'm proud to say that he's a fellow West Virginian.
