Stitching up the final elements of 14 (having finished 15) I realized there was an opportunity to right an old wrong, kinda, and add a guest star I think you’ll all appreciate.

Iceman? The only original X-man not appearing during Byrne's era except for Phoenix's funeral.
Juggernaut? Although I won't consider him a guest star, if memory doesn't fail me, he was the only X-men's big classic villain that Byrne didn't have the occasion to draw during his tenure in the series except for a small cameo in the prologue to Arcade's 2-part story.
Of course, Iceman is my primary option!

I was (and remain) a big fan of 'The Incredible Hulk' Annual #7 - which sits smack-bang in the midst of JB's classic, original X-Men run - and features both Angel and Iceman taking on Master Mold, alongside ol' Greenskin; artist and co-plotter, no less.
Overall, that annual's story feels very similar and aligned-to 'Uncanny' X-Men at that time, which may be coincidence, or may demonstrate just how much JB was influencing the overall feel of the X-Men's own title.

JB had only just started on the X-Men so I'd have to say it was coincidence. The annual was on sale at the same time as X-Men 112.

As we launch into another flashback with the next few pages, I find myself wondering what this story would look like with all the different sequences edited into chronological order.
