I'm not planning on attending any concerts until well into 2021, or whenever
that can be done safely. I'm just glad I got see some great concerts before
everything shut down.

What was your last concert, and what did you think?

Mine was October 11, 2019 - The Who with Liam Gallagher opening for them at
The Hollywood Bowl. It's top of mind today as The Hollywood Bowl has just
canceled their entire season.

I am a longtime fan of The Who, and I try to make each stop to town. This one
was special - they were appearing with an orchestra, and the Hollywood Bowl
is perfect for orchestra and rock, and the hybrid sounded beautiful for a brisk

The first part had the orchestra joining them for a six songs from "Tommy"
followed by some of their hits. Then the orchestra left for just the band doing
five of the harder songs. Then the orchestra came back for a new song and a
five song set from "Quadrophenia"

The rock opera material was wonderful with orchestra - and "Quadrophenia" is
my favorite album, so it was great to have that at the end. It was such a great
night - I took the Expo Line and Red Line Metro to get there, so I didn't have to
deal with parking.

Fleetwood Mac, some time in the mid Seventies.

I’m just a party animal!

I saw Matt Mays in Halifax, NS last November.

Had tickets booked to Alessia Cara this summer, but it's been cancelled.

Considering all that’s going on right now, perhaps a better title would be
your most recent concert?
That said I think my most recent, perhaps even my only concert, would
be ABBA. Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on September 13, 1979

Midge Ure...City Winery here in Chicago just a few weeks before it all started
to hit the fan.

It was a neat show...stories, Q & A, and requests. Had the chance to chat with
him after for a bit.

Steely Dan, the Beacon Theatre, 10/2018. Last year was the first in a
LONG time I didn’t go to any shows.

I had tickets to two Pearl Jam shows in April but they’ve been
“postponed”. As long at they’re still listed as that and not cancelled,
Ticketmaster gets to keep my money.

The mighty Chic, aka Nile Rodgers and friends, a couple of years ago in Queens. Loved it. Funky as hell.

I took my son to see Rush on the Clockwork Angels tour. My last concert and his first. The band was on fire that night. When they played Headlong Flight, I actually said "Holy shit" because of how they just tore it up (in a good way). Seats sucked (World Music Theater or whatever it's called this week, in Tinley Park, IL) but the music was outstanding.
