In the new Bugs Bunny cartoons for HBO Max, Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam will no longer carry guns.

I understand the anti-gun sentiment and keep gun violence from children, but those 2 characters aren't those characters without guns.

But on the plus side, the ACME weapons are grandfathered in this iteration of Looney Tunes.

Go figure.......

I can't imagine that Elmer Fudd cartoons ever made a single person want a gun more (or even less). That they were cartoon guns behaving in ways not like real guns would be obvious to almost every viewer as well.

Completely reprehensible. They're CARTOONS. Why change the characters ONLY because they carry guns - a fact that is central to their characters?

DON'T LET YOUR CHILDREN WATCH if you fear they will be influenced by Sam and Elmer carrying guns; but don't go back to the 80s. Those cartoons were butchered in efforts to have them "friendlier."

I watched the short clip. Aren't they worried about children putting firecrackers in their mouths?

I think a lot of these decisions are designed to get more press attention. Honestly, I probably would not even have noticed if Elmer Fudd had changed weapons but now I will notice it every time. It's irritating.

The animation looks good though.

Maybe Homer Simpson should join AA and Weight Watchers...

The last iteration of Looney Tunes from 2011 also had no guns. The world kept spinning. This is not a new thing and is only getting press attention because someone jumped on a single comment from a random interview.

Its all part of the conspiracy to keep America stupid. Do not allow situations that might force people to THINK.
