Alpha Flight Is the Latest Marvel Team Rumored for an MCU
Debut

Just saw this. Anyone have anymore info on this? Is Alpha Flight considered
part of the characters Fox had the rights to?

I read somewhere else it was not decided if it would be
for a Disney+ TV series or as part of a movie. In the
same place, I read it would maybe involve a fight
between Hulk and wolverine and the Canadian team would
be in the mix...

I am excited any way...

If the MCU can introduce Wolverine through a fight with the HULK in the wilds of Canada that would be fun! If they could bring in Alpha Flight along the way, all the better.

I would prefer a TV show that follows JB's run chapter and verse.

But a movie is a good chance to introduce Wolverine before the X-Men appear.

The costumes alone would no doubt make me weep, and not in a good way.

I might pay just to see a superhero fight scene take place during a hockey game, and maybe some of the players could start pairing off from the inspiration? I'm picking Sasquatch for goal.

Canadian's dress different (Canadian tuxedo?), maybe it would allow the MCU to embrace a more comic accurate dress code?

I have long said that the way to bring Wolverine into the MCU would be a combined adaptation of the classic Hulk #181 and the animated Hulk vs. Wolverine feature.  I think Alpha Flight can sit nicely within that space and move them out into their own adventures...after the X-Men get up and running.

and i am in no hurry to get the X-Men on screen.  But it has to be done right.  The young team trained by Xavier.  Magneto as the big bad.  Take your time. Do it right.

JB, do you know if there is any truth to the rumor?

Set it in the 80s? Follow JB's story? I'd watch it.

If they did an X-MEN movie first, then did a story based on UNCANNY #139-140 as a way to introduce them, that would be cool.

I think it would work best as a Disney+ series of miniseries.

Posting on a separate thread, I said (at greater length) that if it was me, I would adapt each of these as its own 6 or so episode miniseries:

- Tundra, with an episode-by-episode recap of the team's history and bringing them back together, albeit with a slower build-up to the big fight;
- the death of Guardian;
- the fall of Sasquatch/rise of Talisman; and
- the "return" of Guardian, capped off by a surprise at the end.

Although a feature film is surely a much bigger splash, a miniseries might be a better fit to start them off.
