FF 5 and 6!Took decades for me to notice, but Joe inked several figures, including Sue, on the second page. When I realized, I asked Joe what happened, but he did not remember.

Sad news. One of the all-time greats! You always got a superior result when he inked a book!

So sad to hear this. A legend. His decades-long inking on the FF was practically definitive.

Here's an example of Sinnott's inks on Sue in FF #6 -
Not many of the creators prior to the expansion of the Marvel line in 1968 are still with us now - John Romita, Larry Leiber, Jim Steranko and Roy Thomas are the ones that come to mind.

I've heard the story that Sinnott was sent FANTASTIC FOUR #6 to in by Stan Lee, but after getting a couple of pages done he knew he wasn't going to have the time to complete the issue, but had other prior commitments that prevented him from finishing it, so he mailed it back to Marvel.
He returned to Marvel to do a few Thor stories in JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY in 1962-63 before finally becoming the inker on FANTASTIC FOUR in 1965 and remaining the regular inker through 1981.

Even more significant is considering the artists from the Timely/Atlas period that are still with us. I believe that now we are left with just Romita and Leiber. Am I forgetting anyone else?
